Description
No. 60 is a detached cottage located in Great Barrington Village, dating from the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone, topped with a stone slate roof that features an ashlar stack. The cottage has a rectangular plan with a single-bay extension at the rear gable end. The front facade has two windows, both of which are 2-light casements. There is a 20th-century plank door located on the lower left side, set within a slab-built porch. To the right of the main doorway, there is another 20th-century plank door with a 20th-century lintel leading to the single-bay extension. The stack is positioned at the former gable end and includes capping and skirting. The interior was not accessible during the survey, and the house was empty with boarded windows as of June 1986. This property is part of the Barrington Park Estate.
