Description

No. 28 is a detached cottage located in Middle Stoke, dating from the 17th and 19th centuries. It features dressed limestone and ashlar construction, topped with a Bridgwater tiled roof that has coped verges and gable end stone stacks. The original 17th-century section faces the road, with a parallel 19th-century addition on the northwest side. The cottage is two stories tall and has two windows. The entrance consists of a planked door set in a gabled porch on the 19th-century range, with a 2-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement window to the right and left. On the first floor, there are two 2-light mullioned casement windows. The right side of the building has a single-light casement window on the ground floor, while the left side features a 2-light casement window on the first floor.
