Description

Nos 21 and 22 are a pair of cottages located at the rear of the Baptist Chapel in Middle Stoke, dating from the early 19th century. They are constructed of limestone ashlar with a concrete tiled roof featuring coped verges and stone stacks. The cottages are two stories high and have three windows.

Each cottage has two 6-panelled doors, with No 22 featuring a flat stone hood supported by brackets. To the left of No 21, there are paired 16-pane sash windows, while No 22 has two 16-pane sashes. A plat band runs along the first floor, above which are three additional 16-pane sashes. No 22 also has a 20th-century attic dormer. The right side of the building has two 16-pane sashes.

Inside, the cottages retain original joinery, and No 22 includes an egg and dart moulded fireplace surround.
