Description
The Baptist Chapel, built in 1815 as indicated by the datestone on the gable, is constructed from limestone ashlar and features a double Roman tiled roof with coped verges. The building is single storey with its gable end facing the road. It has a central round-arched doorway with double planked doors that have ornamental strap hinges, flanked by tall 20-pane windows, and the datestone is positioned above the entrance.
On the left side, there is a planked door and a 16-pane sash window on the ground floor, along with a round-arched window on the first floor. The right side features a 16-pane sash window and two round-arched windows, with a 6-panelled door located to the right. At the rear of the chapel is a former minister's cottage that includes sash windows. Inside, the chapel has a 4-bay roof supported by tie-beam trusses with curved bracing extending from the tie-beams to the principals, and there is a reading desk at the east end.
