Description
The wall incorporating a stone seat forms the northern boundary of the churchyard of the Church of St Mary in Great Barrington. It is likely from the 19th century and is made of coursed squared and dressed limestone, standing 2 meters high. The wall features flat coping and a projecting course approximately 50 centimeters below the top on the south side. At the west end, there is a 20th-century plank door set within a pointed-arched surround that rises above the general height of the wall. Additionally, the wall includes a stone bench, which may have been removed from the chancel during renovations, measuring about 5 meters in length with moulded stone bench ends.
