ALDSWORTH - SP 10 NE 7/2 Barns and shelter sheds, Ladbarrow Farm GV II

Barns, attached shelter sheds and stable. Barns dated 1795 on stone plaque between windows of 2-storey porch. Shelter sheds of contemporary date and mid-late C19 date. Coursed squared and dressed limestone. Stone slate roof to barn and shelter sheds south of barns. Concrete tile roof to shelter sheds at gable end of barn, stone slate and red tile to stable. Long rectangular plan to barns with 3 shelter sheds at right angles on south (one mid- late C19). Mid-late C19 shelter shed at gable end of barn. Two lean-to porches and one half-hipped 2-storey porch on north side of barn. Two, gabled projecting porches on the south, one of 2- storeys. Lean-to porch between gabled porches. Two late C18 shelter sheds with bays separated by squared limestone columns with square flat-chamfered stone abaci. Mid-late C19 shelter shed between the former with circular cast iron piers. Brick piers to gable end shelter shed. Limited interior inspection. Collar and tie beam trusses.
