Description

ALDSWORTH ALDSWORTH VILLAGE SP 1510 11/16 Green Garden Cottages (formerly listed as Nos. 1 and 2) 23.1.52 GV II

Two cottages semi-detached, now in one occupation. Early-mid C19. Coursed squared and dressed limestone, concrete tile roof, C20 stone stacks imitating ashlar. Rectangular plan with slightly later extension at left gable end. Two-storey, 5-windowed facade (including extension) lit by 2-light stone-mullioned steel casements with horizontal glazing bars, one single light with chamfered stone surround. Three C19 plank doors within segmental- headed surrounds. Gable-end stacks to main body. Interior; two open fireplaces, one with stone lintel, one with inglenook seat and bressumer. Niche in wall right of the latter.
