Description

A barn, probably dating from the late 18th century, stands south of Tallet Cottage. Constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone with a concrete tile roof, the barn has an 'L' shaped plan. A plank door, featuring a concrete lintel and brick step, is set into the wall facing Tallet Cottage. There are two low openings with timber lintels, and a plank door in the left gable end. A pitching window was formerly present in the upper left side, and a C19 window is situated towards the apex of the gable. The remains of a possible grain shoot are visible in the upper left corner. Two 2-light wooden casements, one of which is blocked, are found in the wall facing the lane. Inside, the first floor was formerly used as a grain store, and original collar and tie beam trusses are still present.
