Description

BIBURY BIBURY VILLAGE SP 1006-1106 11/67 Entrance walls and gateway approximately 120m to north of Bibury Court Hotel II Gateway and flanking walls. Early C18. Ashlar limestone; iron gates. Gatepiers linked to curved flanking walls by short straight walls with pedestrian openings. Square gatepiers have plinth and moulded cornice with weathered coping. Pedestrian opening to east has keyed lintel; matching blocked opening to west. Plain coping to flanking walls; lower pier terminations with pedimented panels set above. Simple spear-topped iron gates. Whole group c20m overall width.
