Description
The entrance walls and gateway located approximately 120 meters north of Bibury Court Hotel date from the early 18th century. They are constructed of ashlar limestone and feature iron gates. The gateway is flanked by curved walls connected by short straight walls that include pedestrian openings. The square gatepiers have a plinth and a moulded cornice topped with weathered coping. The pedestrian opening on the east side has a keyed lintel, while there is a matching blocked opening on the west side. The flanking walls have plain coping, and the lower pier terminations are adorned with pedimented panels. The simple iron gates are topped with spear points. The entire structure has an overall width of approximately 20 meters.
