Description

BIBURY OFF THE SQUARE SP 1006-1106 (east side) 11/108 Garden Cottage (previously listed as Cottage 23.1.52 by gates to Bibury Court) GV II Detached house. Late C17; extensively restored early-mid C19. Coursed rubble limestone; ashlar chimneys; stone slate and concrete tile roofs. Two storey; rear wing at west end; C20 addition in angle. South front: 2-window fenestration, 3-light recessed cavetto mullioned casements to ground floor, 2-light in eaves-mounted parapet gable roof dormers, all with hoodmoulds. Central doorway with projecting porch having moulded hood and coped top; C20 panelled door. Parapet gabled ends to main range with gable-mounted chimneys having moulded caps. Rear: west-facing half gable to rear wing with single-window iron casement fenestration. Two chimneys with moulded caps. Interior not inspected.
