Description

WINSON THE GREEN SP 0808-0908 (north east side) 9/253 Reservoir Cottage (previously listed as Cottage 26.1.61 immediately to N of Winson Manor Cottage) GV II Detached house. Mid-late C17; extensive early C19 alterations and additions. Random rubble limestone; rubble chimneys; stone slate roof, concrete tile to rear. Two-storey; L-plan. South end: gable end of main range to left with 3-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement to ground floor, C19 casement with timber lintel above. Small blocked lancet in gable apex. Doorway to right with timber lintel, plank door and flat stone porch hood; segmental arched ground floor casement beyond with smaller casement above. Two ridge-mounted chimneys to wing. West side: small casement with timber lintel; 2 eaves-mounted gabled dormers. Some evidence in masonry of C19 enlargement of very small original house. Interior not inspected.
