Description
Chapel Cottage is a small detached house located in Winson Village. It dates from the early 18th century but was largely rebuilt in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed rubble limestone with ashlar chimneys and has a stone slate roof. It is two stories tall and has an L-plan layout, with a single-storey section that includes an attic at the north end.
The front of the cottage features a mix of window styles, including three-light recessed chamfered mullioned casements with hoodmoulds on the right and two-light casements on both floors to the left. There are also two timber casements on the upper floor. The central doorway has a timber lintel and a plank door. The section on the right has been partly altered to serve as a garage, and there is a tall chimney mounted on the eaves that appears to be from the 20th century. The rear wing at the south end has timber casement windows. The interior has not been inspected.
