Description
Swan House is a house with an attached garage and stable wing, dating from the mid to late 17th century, with significant rebuilding in the early 19th century and 20th-century additions. The building is constructed from random and coursed rubble limestone, featuring rubble chimneys and a stone slate roof. It is two storeys high with an attic, and there is a single-storey range with an attic to the southeast that includes the stables.
The front of the house has two windows in the earliest part, with recessed chamfered mullioned casements on the left: a three-light window on the ground floor and a two-light window above. To the right are metal casements with timber lintels. The central doorway has a timber lintel and a 20th-century door, with a blocked opening to the right that retains its timber lintel. There are two chimneys mounted on the ridge, both rebuilt in the 20th century. The right range features 20th-century mullioned windows, two gabled dormers, and garage doors.
At the rear, there are extensive 20th-century additions designed in the Cotswold style. The interior has not been inspected.
