Description

Church Cottage is a detached house, originally dating from the mid-17th century and likely enlarged in the 18th century. It is constructed of random rubble limestone, with brick rebuilt chimneys, and has a stone slate roof. The south front features a full gable with a single window on each floor. The lower window is a recessed three-light chamfered mullioned casement with a hoodmould and relieving arch. Above it is a two-light window. To the left is a casement window with a timber lintel, formerly a doorway. An addition to the right includes a gabled porch and a gabled eaves-mounted dormer. Two chimneys rise from the ridge of the roof. The rear of the property has an outshut with a catslide roof, and plank garage doors at the west end, with weatherboarding above. The interior remains uninspected. The group value relates to its contribution to the character of the village.
