Description
College Cottage is a detached house dating from the mid to late 17th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of random rubble limestone, featuring rubble and ashlar chimneys, and has a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high, with a parallel two-storey rear range that includes an attic.
On the north front, there are two windows, with three-light chamfered mullioned casements on the ground floor and gabled eaves-mounted dormers above. To the left, there is a lean-to that has a 20th-century door. The west side of the cottage has two gables; the rear range features a single window with chamfered mullioned fenestration, three-light on both the ground and upper floors, and two-light in the attic. A gable-mounted chimney with a chamfered cap is located at the east end of the rear range. The interior has not been inspected. Notably, part of this building was recorded as a barn in the early 20th century.
