Description

The gateway at the Gatehouse, likely built around 1600, is a limestone structure with attached walls made of banded flint and limestone, featuring moulded coping. The gateway includes a semi-circular headed archway with moulded imposts and a keystone. Above the archway, there is a moulded cornice that supports a crowning feature with a square niche beneath a segmental pediment. Fluted pilasters and double scrolls enhance the design. The cast-iron double gates, which are likely from the 19th century, complete the entrance.
