Description

Grove Farmhouse is a former farmhouse, now a house, dating from the late 18th century and altered in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone, with the left gable end featuring incised render. The building has a stone slate roof on the front pitch, while the rear of the main body and the outbuildings have concrete tile and artificial stone slate. The main body is rectangular and has outbuildings attached to the rear right. There is a 20th-century flat-roofed extension at the back, which is not of special interest.

The main body has two storeys and an attic, which is lit by four 2-light roof dormers, each fitted with 2-light wooden casements. The facade has four windows, mostly 3-light wooden casements set within segmental-headed surrounds. There are two 4-light canted bays with horizontal glazing bars on the left side. A 20th-century glazed door is located between the bays, with three-light casements above each bay. Access to the house is via the 20th-century flat-roofed extension at the rear. The building features gable end and axial stacks, with two stacks that have moulded cappings. The interior has not been inspected.
