Description
The Lady Cottage is a detached cottage located in Notgrove Village, dating from the late 17th century to the mid-18th century, with a 19th-century extension. It is constructed of limestone rubble, with the facade faced in coursed squared and dressed limestone, and features a stone slate roof and an ashlar stack. The building has a rectangular plan, with a symmetrical facade.
The upper floor is adorned with twin gables above two 2-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casements that have stopped hoods. The ground floor has two 3-light stone-mullioned casements with a continuous hood above. A central 20th-century plank door is framed by a flat-chamfered, flattened 'Tudor'-arched surround. There is a stone canopy supported by moulded brackets over a small 2-light stone-mullioned window with round-headed lights in the right gable end. Additionally, there is a bull's-eye window on the first floor, and all windows feature rectangular leaded panes, with some early glass present in the facade's windows. The stack is located at the left gable end. The interior has not been inspected.
