Description
Church Cottages are three semi-detached cottages dating from the late 17th century to the mid-18th century. They are constructed from coursed squared and dressed limestone, topped with a concrete tile roof and feature ashlar stacks, one of which has been repaired in brick. The cottages have a long rectangular plan, with a lean-to at the north gable end that is not of special interest. The facade is illuminated by two and three-light wooden casements, and there is one two-light stone-mullioned casement. Notably, No 2 has a canted bay. There is a 20th-century gabled porch towards the left end, and three 20th-century plank doors. The wall facing the churchyard features two and three-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casements with horizontal glazing bars. The cottages are primarily listed for their unaltered fenestration in the wall facing the churchyard. The interiors have not been inspected.
