Description
Court Farm is a former farmhouse that has been converted into a house, dating from the late 18th century and 19th century. The main structure is built of coursed squared and dressed limestone, while the rest is made of roughly coursed limestone rubble. The front features a stone slate roof, and the rear has a concrete tile roof, with a stone stack.
The building has an 'L'-shaped plan with a 19th-century extension at the rear left, which incorporates walls from a single-unit building that predates the 18th century. There is also a wash-house extension on the gable end. The main facade is two storeys high with an attic and has three windows, all of which are two-light stone-mullioned casements. A central 20th-century plank door is set within a plain rectangular surround and is topped by a flat stone canopy with a moulded margin supported by consoles. A band runs between the ground and first floors.
On the left gable end, there is a two-light stone-mullioned window with one casement featuring leaded panes. The two-storey, two-windowed extension at the rear is lit by two-light wooden casements and has a 20th-century door with glazing bars. The gable end features a clamp with offsets and buttresses, as well as gable end stacks and flat gable end coping. The left gable end of the main body has a roll-cross saddle.
Inside, there is a small stone fireplace with a 'Tudor'-arched surround and bolection moulding located in the corner of the front right-hand room of the main body, which may be a reused feature. Additionally, there are two open fireplaces with bressumer beams.
