Description
This is a barn located at the corner of a 'T' junction, dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed from coursed squared and dressed limestone, topped with a stone slate roof. The barn has an asymmetrical 'T'-shaped plan and features a projecting porch on the south side. There is a lean-to garden shed at the left gable end and a garage at the right gable end, which are not of special interest.
The barn has double plank doors positioned off-centre to the right, set within a flat-chamfered semi-circular headed surround. There are also double doors leading to the gabled porch entrance on the opposite wall, with a pitching window to the right. Each gable has circular owl holes near the apex, and the flat gable end coping is adorned with roll-cross saddles. Inside, the barn consists of four bays with king post trusses, which are not original. The barn bears resemblance to the barn at Whalley Farm, which is dated 1740.
