Description

The Vicarage is a building that dates from the late 17th to early 18th century, with later additions from the mid to late 19th century. The earlier section is constructed from limestone rubble with dressed quoins, while the 19th-century part is made of coursed squared and dressed limestone. Both sections have a stone slate roof and ashlar stacks. The 19th-century section is rectangular in plan and features a symmetrical, two-storey facade with three windows. This facade is illuminated by single and two-light stone-mullioned windows that contain 8-pane glazing-bar sashes with horns, and there are stopped hoods over the ground floor windows. The central entrance has a 19th-century fielded four-panel door with a rectangular hall light that has marginal glazing bars and a stopped hood.

At the rear, the late 17th to early 18th-century range is two storeys high and has a cellar. It features a six-pane sash window in a dressed stone surround with a keystone on the rear wall, and a similar window is located in the south gable end. There is a double-chamfered surround to a former stone-mullioned window in the gable end of the wing at the rear. A two-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casement has been reused in the 19th-century service extension. The roof has flat coping and moulded kneelers at the gable ends of the 19th-century part, with gable end stacks. The stacks on the late 17th to early 18th-century part have moulded cappings. The interior has not been inspected.
