Description

Hill Farm is a former farmhouse, now a house, dating from the early 18th century, with extensions added in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. It is constructed of coursed, squared, and dressed limestone with a Westmorland slate roof to the front and decorative Welsh slate and concrete tile at the rear. The house has an 'L' shaped plan and two storeys with an attic.

The symmetrical front facade has two windows, with C20 two-light wooden casements containing glazing bars, set within dressed stone surrounds. A C20 part-glazed door is located centrally, and a Britannia sun insurance plaque is positioned in the upper left corner. A double-chamfered stone-mullioned window with two lights is found on the right-hand return. Gable-end stacks have moulded cappings and flat-chamfered skirtings. The interior has not been inspected.
