Description

Church Cottage is an early 19th-century detached cottage with a slightly later extension. It is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone, with a stone slate roof, a stone ridge, and an ashlar stack. The cottage follows a rectangular plan with single-bay extensions to both gable ends. The main body of the cottage is two storeys high with a two-windowed facade, featuring two-light stone-mullioned casements to the ground floor and two two-light eaves dormers. A central 19th-century plank door is protected by a gabled, plank-built porch with a concrete tile roof. To the right gable end is a 1 1/2-storey extension, which has a 19th-century plank door with a timber lintel at ground floor level. A single-storey lean-to garage extension is located to the left, previously featuring a ridge roof line. The roof features flat coped gables. A stack is present at the former gable end of the main body, with a moulded capping and skirting. The interior has not been inspected.
