Description

The Old Bakehouse, formerly known as The Bakery, is a semi-detached house located on Well Lane in Guiting Power. It dates from the late 17th century to the 18th century and is constructed from coursed squared and dressed limestone. The building features a limestone slate roof covering the main body and porch, along with limestone gable coping and a stack.

The house has a rectangular plan with an extension at the rear right and stands two storeys tall, with a cellar beneath the right end. It includes two half dormers and has three and four-light double chamfered stone-mullioned casements with horizontal glazing bars, although the lower left window is a 20th-century addition. The front features a plank door with a thumb latch, positioned far left within a 20th-century surround and topped with a wooden lintel. The porch has a hipped roof supported by stone columns with decorative capitals. The left gable end includes a stack and coping. The interior has not been inspected.
