Description

Cowley Cottage is a former pair of cottages from the late 17th century to early 18th century, now converted into a single house with a 20th-century extension on the right that is not of special interest. The building is constructed of rubble stone and features alternating flush quoins on the main section to the left, with a stone slate roof and brick stacks at both ends. It is a single long range, two storeys high, with an attic in the main section only.

On the first floor, there are two windows with 2-light chamfered stone mullions, while the ground floor has one 3-light window to the left and a 2-light window to the right, flanking a former doorway that has been filled in with a small window, retaining the original timber lintel. To the far left, there is a small stone newel light, and a small central gabled dormer features paired casements, a stone slate-hung gable, and a stone ball finial. The only doorway now exists in the small cottage to the right, which has one 2-light stone mullion window on each floor.
