Description
Greystones is a former pair of cottages that has been converted into a single house. It dates from the late 18th century to the early 19th century and is a rebuilding of older cottages. The exterior is made of coursed rubble with a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and three bays, with quoins at the corners. The central entrance features a six-panel door set in an ashlar surround with splayed plinths.
On the ground floor, there are three-pane sash windows with projecting ashlar sills and lintels, along with a small 20th-century casement window to the right of the door. The first floor has smaller 20th-century casement windows, also with projecting ashlar sills and lintels. The roof features shaped kneelers and ashlar copings, with brick stacks at the ends. At the rear, there is a door with two fielded panels that leads to the former cottage entrance, and the roof is covered with pantiles.
Inside, the ground-floor room to the left has a stop-chamfered beam and matching joists. On the first-floor landing, there are doors with two fielded panels, and the roof structure includes strutted principal rafter trusses.
