Description

The memorial lych gate at the churchyard entrance to the Church of St. Lawrence was built around 1920 by F.L. Griggs. It features a timber frame set on low limestone walls and is topped with a stone slate roof. The roof is square pyramidal with sprockets and is finished with a stone ball finial. The timbers are tenon jointed with projecting pegs. The beams display a carved memorial inscription honoring both World Wars. The stone base walls include stone seats. The original timber gate can be closed in two positions: facing the street or the churchyard.
