Description

The Cottage is an early 19th-century house located on the south side of Parson's Lane in Weston Subedge. It is constructed from limestone ashlar and features a concrete plain tile roof. The house has a symmetrical two-room layout with a central staircase hall, and it is two storeys tall with an attic, along with a single-storey wing at the back.

The front facade has three windows across the two storeys, which are 16-pane sash windows with keystone lintels. There is a central doorway that is sheltered by a porch supported by timber posts, which are built off attached stone base walls. A plain band runs along the upper floor level. Additionally, there is a small casement window with a keystone lintel located on the ground floor at the north end of the building. The house has two chimneys that feature a moulded string and cap. The single-storey wing at the back has undergone significant alterations in the 20th century. The Cottage is notably prominent when approaching the village from the southwest.
