Description
This building is a stable and attached animal pound located approximately 30 meters east of Middle Hill Farmhouse. It dates from the early to mid-18th century and is constructed of squared and coursed limestone, with larger blocks used at the front. The roof is a gabled plain tile roof from the 20th century. The structure has a one-unit plan and stands two storeys tall. The front features a loft opening above a stable door, which has a keyed lintel. To the left, there are drystone walls that enclose a small animal pound. Inside, the stable has chamfered ground-floor beams. This building is noted as a rare example of a farm building with an attached pound and is valued for its group significance with Middle Hill Farmhouse.
