Description
Vale Farmhouse (left) and Yew Tree Farmhouse (right) are two attached buildings that were formerly one farmhouse, dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. There is a single-storey extension at the rear from the 18th century, which is not of listable quality. The buildings are constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone, with larger blocks of limestone on the right side. They feature a limestone slate roof with flat gable coping and ashlar gable end stacks.
The front has a three-windowed, three-light arrangement with flat-chamfered stone mullioned casements, all of which are 19th-century replacements with horizontal glazing bars. The two windows on the lower left are taller than the others. There is an unpainted plank door with cover strips, a diamond light, and a stopped hood above it. Additionally, there is a coursed, squared, and dressed limestone boundary wall with flat capping stones that curve up at the corners and at the gateway, which is flanked by large ball finials.
