Description

Pound House, located approximately 15 meters east of Longbrook Farmhouse, is a farm building believed to have served as a pound house. The structure features roughly coursed slatestone rubble walls topped with cob. It has a thatched roof covered with corrugated iron, hipped at the left end and half-hipped at the right. The building has a rectangular plan, originally consisting of a 2-bay linhay at the left end, a pound house to the right, and a small wing at the right end. It stands two storeys tall, with a single-storey wing projecting from the right-hand end. The lower left-hand part was originally open-fronted, supported by a central circular rubble pier, but has since been infilled with stone on the ground floor and weatherboarding above. The front features three doorways and a first-floor loading hatch. The interior has not been inspected.
