Description

MALBOROUGH SX 74 SW 5/36 Pound house immediately to the north of Yarde Farmhouse

Farm building formerly pound house. Circa late C18. Slatestone rubble wall. Gable ended corrugated iron roof. Rectangular plan, built partly into bank, 2 storeys at left-hand end, I storey to right. Front wall has 2 storey height opening at left-hand end. To its right on the ground floor is a wide doorway. Beyond it is a loading hatch beneath the eaves. To the right of this the building becomes 1 storey as the ground rises and it has a doorway with shallow leanto projection beyond it. Interior: retains the original cider press.
