Description
Pound House, located immediately to the north of Yarde Farmhouse, is a farm building that was formerly a pound house, dating from the late 18th century. It features slatestone rubble walls and a gable-ended corrugated iron roof. The building has a rectangular plan and is built partly into a bank, with two storeys at the left-hand end and one storey to the right. The front wall includes a two-storey height opening at the left-hand end, with a wide doorway on the ground floor to the right. Beyond this doorway is a loading hatch positioned beneath the eaves. As the ground rises to the right, the building transitions to one storey, featuring a doorway with a shallow lean-to projection beyond it. Inside, the building retains the original cider press.
