Description
Number 4 is a house built between 1820 and 1850, featuring an attached area balustrade. It is constructed of stucco over brick with a concealed roof and has end stucco stacks. The property includes cast- and wrought-iron area balustrades and balconies.
The exterior consists of three storeys above a basement, with three bays. The central bay projects and is canted to full height, while there is a narrow recessed bay to the left. The windows are arranged in a pattern of 1:1:3:1. A continuous moulded band runs along the first floor. The main range has 1/1 sash windows throughout, with the first-floor windows being taller and featuring blind boxes. The outer bays have architraves and cornices supported by console brackets. The central entrance has two roll-edged steps leading to a six-panel door with an overlight. The left bay has 6/6 and 3/3 sash windows. All windows have plain reveals and sills, and the basement is concealed.
The interior has not been inspected. The first-floor balconies in the outer bays display a heart and anthemion motif, and the roof balustrade features a lattice motif. The area balustrade also has a heart and anthemion motif.
