Description

The Prince of Wales Public House, originally two houses, was built around 1810 to 1830. The building is stucco over brick, with slate roofs and brick stacks, some of which have been renewed. The exterior has three storeys and six windows on the first floor, three windows to each original house. Stucco detailing includes tooled architraves around the windows, with cornices on consoles to those on the ground floor. The windows are 8/8 sashes on the ground and first floors. The second-floor windows are a mix of 4/8, 4/4, 3/6 and 3/3 sashes, all set in plain reveals with sills. A central doorway has a six-panel flush door, and a double door to the right, set within a tooled architrave with pilasters and a pediment. The double door to the left has a fanlight. The interior has not been inspected. The building forms a group with and abuts numbers 15 and 17 (The Cotswold Inn) and numbers 7 and 9.
