Description
A pair of terraced houses, built around 1810 to 1830, located in Cheltenham. The front facade is stuccoed over brick, with a slate roof. A brick end, party wall, and rear stacks are also present. The building has iron balconies and railings.
The houses are three storeys high, originally with eight first-floor windows arranged four windows each. Stucco detailing includes horizontal bands on the first and second floors, a crowning frieze (partially missing on the right side), and a cornice with a blocking course. The windows are 6/6 sashes, taller on the first floor, and the basement windows are 3/6 sashes. They are set in plain reveals with sills. There are entrances below the second, fourth, and seventh windows, approached by three steps (with roll-edged detailing where original). Each entrance has a 6-panel door; the doors to the left have upper raised and fielded panels, and lower flush panels, with overlights above. Coped gable ends are present.
The interior retains original joinery and panelled shutters. Subsidiary features include scrolled lozenge and panelled railings to the area and along the sides of the outer steps. Four first-floor windows on the right side have individual balconies with embellished rods and a central circular motif.
