Description

This is a terrace of three houses located on Hewlett Road in Cheltenham, likely built around 1820 to 1834. They are documented on a map of 1834 but not on an earlier map from 1820. The construction is stucco over brick, with some render on the left-hand side. The roofs are hidden, and there are brick stacks built into the party walls, along with iron railings.

The houses are three stories high with a basement, and feature nine first-floor windows (three per house). Horizontal bands mark the first and second floors. The original windows are mostly 6/6 sashes, with the second floor windows on the right and centre houses being 3/3 sashes. The central and right houses have blank openings. The basement windows are 6/6 and 8/8 sashes. The entrances are on the right side and feature 6-fielded and lozenge-shaped panel doors, each with a fanlight above. A decorative crowning frieze and cornice adorn the central house, while a continuous low parapet and copings run along the top. The interior has not been inspected.

Attached to the front of the houses are spearhead-shaped forecourt railings crowned with an urn finial, and a balustrade with a stick and X-motif design.
