Pair of gate piers c1840-60, joined by C20 gates (not included). Ashlar over brick. Chamfered plinths. Vermiculated and channelled shafts with chamfered angles, crowning band, frieze and moulded cornice with cross-gabled caps. Forms a good streetscape feature and an integral part of the setting of Berkhampstead school (qv).
