Description

This is a villa dating from approximately 1830 to 1860, located in Cheltenham. The exterior is stuccoed over brick, with a hipped slate roof, brick end stacks, and an iron porch, balconies, and railings. The two-storey villa has a basement level and three windows on the first floor. Architectural details include quoins, a moulded band at the first-floor level, wide cornices over the ground-floor windows, and tooled architraves and blind boxes over the first-floor windows. The first-floor windows are 6/6 sashes, while the ground-floor windows are 1/1 sashes; all windows have shutter boxes, except for the basement casements. A flight of roll-edged steps leads to the central entrance, which features a four-panel door with raised and fielded upper panels, flush lower panels, and an overlight. The porch has an ornate anthemion and scroll motif to the stanchions and frieze, along with a dentil cornice. Balconies on the ground floor feature a double-heart-and-anthemion motif from the Carron Company. The railings on either side of the steps are ornate, with wreathed handrails and decorative balusters. The interior has not been inspected.
