Description
No. 43 is a house located on Market Street in Hatherleigh, dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It has rendered walls, likely made of cob and rubble, and a thatched roof that is gabled to the right and hipped to the left. There is a brick stack at the right gable end. The house features a two-room plan with a passageway through the left-hand end, and the right-hand room is heated by a fireplace located in the gable end. The exterior is two storeys high with a regular three-window front, featuring late 19th-century three-light casements. The central entrance has a 19th-century four-panelled door, and there is a plank door leading to the passageway at the left-hand end. The interior was inaccessible at the time of the survey.
