Description

No. 30 is a house located on South Street in Hatherleigh, dating from the early to mid-17th century. It features partly rendered rubble and cob walls and has a gable-ended thatch roof with a central axial brick stack. The layout likely consists of a two-room plan with a through passage, where the left-hand room is heated by the axial stack. The exterior is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical front with three windows, which are late 20th century 1 and 2-light diamond leaded pane casements. There is a 20th century plank door situated to the right of the center. Although the interior was inaccessible during the survey, it is expected to contain early features such as open fireplaces, ceiling beams, and possibly roof timbers.
