Description

26 High Street is a small house dating from the mid-19th century. It features sandstone rubble walls that are roughly coursed and has a gable-ended slate roof with a brick stack at each end. The building has a double-depth plan, being one room wide on the ground floor, with the first floor extending over the carriageway on the left-hand side.

The house is two storeys tall and includes a cellar. The front is asymmetrical with two windows; the first floor has original 12-pane hornless sash windows, while the ground floor has two fixed 12-pane lights. There is an opening for the cellar below the windows. The carriageway on the left side has a flat stone arch lintel, and there is a 20th-century glazed door in the right-hand wall of the carriageway.
