Description
No. 19 is a house located on High Street in Hatherleigh, dating from the early 19th century with a later 19th-century addition. The building features plastered walls with rusticated quoins and a hipped slate roof, along with a brick stack at the right-hand end and a rear lateral stack. The house has a double depth plan with a room on either side of a central entry hall, and a later wing that projects from the right-hand end.
The exterior is two storeys high with a symmetrical three-window front. The original horizontal sliding sash windows are located at the centre on the first floor and on the ground floor, featuring 12 and 16 panes. There are 20th-century two-light casements to the left and right on the first floor. The central and right-hand first floor windows have projecting keystones above them. A 20th-century verandah runs along the front wall. The central entrance features an original fielded six-panel door with a rectangular fanlight above. The later wing on the right side includes a carriageway beneath it. In front of the house, there is a stone rubble garden wall with rusticated pillars. The interior has not been inspected.
