Description

A row of three cottages located on the south side of High Street in Hatherleigh, dating from around the early 19th century. The walls are of plastered cob and the roof is covered in slate, with a gabled roof to the left and a hipped roof to the right end. Brick stacks are present at both ends of the row, and one on the rear. The cottages were originally planned as one-room dwellings, with numbers 10 and 8 to the left and number 6 having a two-room plan with a central entry. All have rear extensions. The front has an asymmetrical arrangement of windows: numbers 10 and 8 each have one window, while number 6 has two. Numbers 10 and 8 retain their original 12-pane horizontal sliding sash windows. Number 10 has a late 19th-century four-panel door on its right side, and number 8 has an original six-panel door. Number 6, at the right end, has later 19th-century six-pane sashes and a six-panel door in the centre. The interior has not been recorded.
