Description
No. 9 Cross Street is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of stone rubble and features a slate roof with gable ends. A brick axial stack is located on the front slope of the roof, heating the right-hand room. The building has a two-room layout with a roughly central entrance, situated on a corner site with a canted front wall.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a regular two-window front with the canted wall. There are steps leading up to a 19th-century six-panel door near the centre, which is flanked by an early 19th-century twelve-pane sash window on the left and another early 19th-century twelve-pane sash on the right, where the wall returns. Above the ground floor windows, there are two replacement twelve-pane sashes. The interior has not been inspected.
