Description

No. 23 Main Street is a house, probably dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble with a stone tiled roof and has two storeys plus an attic. The building features a three-unit plan, with the left-hand bay possibly being a later addition, marked by a straight joint that separates it from the rest of the structure. This bay includes a three-light stone mullioned window on each floor. To the right of this bay is the entrance door, which has a large plain stone lintel above it, along with two additional three-light mullioned windows, all of which have ovolo mouldings. The house has coped gables and gable end stacks.
