Description
Godfreys House is a mid-17th century house located in Belton in Rutland on Church Street. It is constructed of coursed rubble with limestone dressings and features a stone tiled roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a two-unit plan. The central doorway is framed by a chamfered stone architrave, and there are three-light mullioned windows, which are ovolo moulded and have hoodmoulds, on either side of the doorway on both storeys. Above the doorway at first floor level, there is an oval bullseye window set in a stone frame with a hoodmould. A central stack is positioned behind the doorway, made of brick on a stone base. The house has coped gables and two dormers in the roof. At the rear, there is a wing with an additional stack and three mullioned windows in the gable wall.
