Description
Butterford Cottage is a cottage that likely dates from the 18th century, with a 20th-century addition. It features rendered cob walls and a thatched roof that is hipped to the left and gabled to the right. There is a rebuilt 20th-century brick stack at the right gable end. The cottage has a two-room plan, with the larger heated room located on the right. The 20th-century addition projects to the left at the rear.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a regular front with two windows, consisting of 20th-century one and two-light casements that do not have glazing bars. There is a lean-to glazed 20th-century porch to the left of the center, which has a plank door. The interior was inaccessible during the survey, but the right-hand room was noted to have an open fireplace with a wooden lintel.
