Description
Stocken Cottage is a semi-detached cottage that dates from the 18th century or possibly earlier, with a 20th-century extension. It features plastered cob walls and a thatched roof that is gabled at the left end and hipped at the right. There is a rubble axial stack located at the left end. The cottage has a 2-room plan, with a larger heated room on the left, which may indicate it was originally part of a 3-room house with a through-passage, although the lower end has been rebuilt.
The exterior is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical front with two windows, featuring 20th-century one and two-light casements. At the left end, there is a 20th-century gabled part-glazed porch with a glazed door, while a plank door is located at the right end. The lower 20th-century addition is also at the right-hand end. The interior has not been inspected but may contain early features and an interesting roof structure.
