Description
No. 62 High Street is a house, likely built in the 18th century and remodeled in the mid-19th century. It features a solid rendered front and a slate roof. There are red-brick chimneys on each side wall; the left chimney has upper courses that project to form a cap, while the right chimney is heightened with late 19th century red brick and both have louvred pots. The building is two storeys high with a three-window range. The central doorway is topped by a blind window and flanked by raised quoins. The openings have raised surrounds with jambs shaped to resemble masonry blocks, and the window surrounds have slightly pointed tops. The round-arched doorway includes a keyblock and features a four-panelled door with an old knocker. The windows are 8-paned sashes with margin-panes, and there is an eaves cornice supported by paired brackets. The interior has not been inspected.
